The color, symbolizes the sun, the eternal source of energy. It spreads warmth, optimism, enlightenment. It is the liturgical color of deity Saraswati - the goddess of knowledge.

The shape, neither a perfect circle nor a perfect square, gives freedom from any fixed pattern of thoughts just like the mind and creativity of a child. It reflects eternal whole, infinity, unity, integrity & harmony.

The ' child' within, reflects our child centric philosophy; the universal expression to evolve and expand but keeping a child’s interests and wellbeing at the central place.

The name, "Maa Sharda;" is a mother with divinity, simplicity, purity, enlightenment and healing touch, accommodating all her children indifferently. This venture itself is an offering to her........

Lessons From Little Ones – 3

Part of series of articles published in IMAX (monthly journal of IMA Rajkot) based on real life incidents-2016

(As adults,  we are always eager to teach children  but often the little ones give us beautiful lessons in unexpected ways……Sharing here a series of such incidents mostly with my own children and few from other kids as well. They have created long lasting imprints on my memory.)

Fight with fun

One summer night,   we were relishing ice-cream at the race course.  It was Saturday and the footpath was full with kids and families.  I saw two small balloon vendors who themselves belonged to the age of playing with balloons. !!

One of them was trying to sell a balloon to a customer.  It is our habit of proudly paying large bills at the malls and multiplexes but not to forego bargaining with street vendors.  As the man was negotiating for a pair of balloons at the price of a single balloon, the other boy came with his balloons and took the opportunity to make few bucks.

Now the first salesman (actually a sales boy here) got annoyed because of losing his business. As they moved to the other side of the footpath, he caught hold of the others’ torn and dirty collars.  After exchanges of few obscene words and few pushes and pulls, the first one snatched a balloon from the other ones stick and burst it under his feet. He repeated this again.

Everyone witnessing the incident feared some more aggressive moments. Surprisingly, the boy who has broken the discipline of business started laughing and handed few more balloons to his competitor. They both burst them under their bare feet with great joy and walked away hand in hand to find a new customer.

What a funny end to a fight! Probably they were silly enough to waste a day’s income on a petty fight.  Or is it that they were intelligent enough to wrap up the argument at the cost of some bucks??  After all, they were companions sharing the same business, may be the same slum and the same misfortune too!!
