The color, symbolizes the sun, the eternal source of energy. It spreads warmth, optimism, enlightenment. It is the liturgical color of deity Saraswati - the goddess of knowledge.

The shape, neither a perfect circle nor a perfect square, gives freedom from any fixed pattern of thoughts just like the mind and creativity of a child. It reflects eternal whole, infinity, unity, integrity & harmony.

Lessons From Little Ones – 11

Part of series of articles published in IMAX (monthly journal of IMA Rajkot) based on real life incidents-2016

(As adults,  we are always eager to teach children  but often the little ones give us beautiful lessons in unexpected ways……Sharing here a series of such incidents mostly with my own children and few from other kids as well. They have created long lasting imprints on my memory.)

Love Letter

Summer vacations are always joyful for kids and stress full for mothers. To keep the kids engaged in fruitful activities with minimum mess and minimum noise is the daily headache.

On one such occasion I left the kids with a book of paper art, lots of papers and scissors.  This was followed by the very important instruction to pick up all the mess in the end.

Upon arrival, the kids rushed outside for playing. They said that a “Love Letter” was awaiting me.  The drawing room was filled up with flying papers and few art works displayed on the table. Amidst the mess, under one scissor laid my love letter which read, “Dear Mom, this mess has been created by us few minutes ago for you to clean up.”

My entire grin melted to a silent smile and then evolved a wonderful lesson taught to me by my little ones; there can be many creative ways to communicate.
