The color, symbolizes the sun, the eternal source of energy. It spreads warmth, optimism, enlightenment. It is the liturgical color of deity Saraswati - the goddess of knowledge.

The shape, neither a perfect circle nor a perfect square, gives freedom from any fixed pattern of thoughts just like the mind and creativity of a child. It reflects eternal whole, infinity, unity, integrity & harmony.

The ' child' within, reflects our child centric philosophy; the universal expression to evolve and expand but keeping a child’s interests and wellbeing at the central place.

The name, "Maa Sharda;" is a mother with divinity, simplicity, purity, enlightenment and healing touch, accommodating all her children indifferently. This venture itself is an offering to her........

Lessons From Little Ones – 1

Part of series of articles published in IMAX (monthly journal of IMA Rajkot) based on real life incidents-2016

(As adults,  we are always eager to teach children  but often the little ones give us beautiful lessons in unexpected ways……Sharing here a series of such incidents mostly with my own children and few from other kids as well. They have created long lasting imprints on my memory.)

Hotline with God

It is almost our daily ritual to get children to sleep with some moral story or talks about life, values and God. This one is almost when my kids were 4-5 years old.  One night I was talking about prayers; how they connect us to the supreme power and how they are answered.

“You mean they are like hotline with God? You pick up the phone and talk to God anytime.” -said the younger one. “Exactly, but the only difference is that God may be busy most of the times and he may reply late but he is sure to reply.”- I tried to give a more realistic picture.

Wanting to add an example I said, “See, before you were born we sincerely prayed to God to bless us with a cute little baby; a girl or a boy. He answered it only after a few years but he did.” Within a pause the elder one retorted, “One minute, if you prayed for one child, how come the second one also exists? Taken aback, just as I struggled to search up some valid explanation, he himself came out with a most weird imagination.

He said, “Look what would have happened, as God was distributing babies one by one from the sky, the younger one was behind me in the queue of babies.  As I was sent to you, he would have tried to come forward in the sky to look down where I have dropped. Meanwhile he slipped down, and fell behind me in the same house.”

This made me laugh with tears. A best lesson on communication with God and the most explicit logical explanation!!
